Business & Commercial Litigation
When our clients become involved in legal and business disputes, the number one priority of our Business Litigation Practice is to protect their legal rights and commercial interests.
Our attorneys approach case as both a legal and business problem and always aim to resolve every matter in the way that is most beneficial to each client's unique interests.
Our clients are diverse. We represent businesses and individuals in commercial disputes of all types. Our practice routinely navigates through litigation in partnership conflicts, bankruptcy, and reorganization, receivership claims, government condemnation, construction lawsuits, and contract disputes. We have been at the forefront of the continuous changes to corporate governance, energy sources, environmental impacts, and federal and state taxation. Our team of litigators protects companies, in addition to their officers, directors and stakeholders, against fraud and malfeasance claims, leadership changes and disputes, business interference, and intellectual property disputes.
“Justice delayed is justice denied”
Our team of litigators includes attorneys with invaluable experience in business, litigation, trial, public service, and government, who possess extensive knowledge representing clients in state and federal courts, as well as alternative dispute resolution forums, such as mediation, arbitration, and administrative procedings. We regularly practice before the Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Florida trial and appellate courts, the federal district courts, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals. Our litigators also represent clients before nearly all Rhode Island State administrative agencies and various federal agencies.
Our Business Litigation practice also provides business counseling and mediation and leads seminars and other educational contributions to assist clients in evaluating possible risks and legal exposures before litigation occurs. These "in-house" programs allow clients to assess, control, and head off situations that could potentially result in litigation. When litigation becomes the only option that will protect our client’s interest, our attorneys are well-equipped to handle any type of business litigation dispute.
